Encore is the Ultimate Dance Experience. Our regional events are provide a fun packed day schedule of competitions in all styles for all ages and abilities, workshops and showcases.

THIS IS A QUALIFIER FOR UDO BRITISH DANCE FESTIVAL 2026. YOU NEED TO ATTEND ENCORE WEEKEND OR AN ENCORE REGIONAL TO COMPETE IN ALL ENCORE STYLES & CATEGORIES (TEAMS, DUOS & SOLOS) AT BRITISH DANCE FESTIVAL 2026.

COMPETITION

We will be offering Teams, Solo & Duo competitions in a variety of styles.

Teams – You may choose a maximum of THREE Dance Styles from the below to compete in as a team. 

• Musical Theatre/Jazz (Now Combined)
• Contemporary/Lyrical
• Commercial
• Unleash your style (New category for any style not listed above apart from street dance)*

Age Categories (For Teams, Duos & Solos):
Under 8’s (Ages 4-7)
Under 12’s (Ages 8-11)
Under 16’s (Ages 12-15)
Over 16’s (Ages 16+)

All TEAM music should be 2 mins, 30 Seconds maximum. (Please note teams will be penalised if their music exceeds this)
The Top 5 Teams, Solos and Duos will be placed with trophies and medals (1st-5th place)

TEAM MUSIC: To submit your Team Music, please email it to wales@theudogroup.com as an MP3 with the Age Division, Team Name & Category clearly stated. Please also provide a back up on the day (e.g. USB, Phone, Laptop etc…)

*Unleash your style: Dancers are only permitted to dance in one unleash your style team as part of the 3 team entries. For any styles that have more than 3 teams in a specific style and age we would break that off as a stand alone team genre. For styles with less than 3 they will compete against one another in unleash your style.

Solos – You may choose a maximum of ONE Dance Style from the below to compete in as a Solo. 

• Commercial
• Contemporary/Lyrical

Commercial Solos:
Music will be chosen at random by the DJ. It will be a set BPM suitable for the ability & age of the Dancers in that category.

Contemporary / Lyrical Solos FINALS ONLY:
Please Note, Music will be RANDOM for all heats. If you reach the FINAL in your age category then you will be performing to a SET Song. The list of Set Songs for the Finals will be listed in December 2025:

Duos – You may choose a maximum of TWO Dance Styles from the below to compete in as a Duo.

• Commercial
• Contemporary/Lyrical
• Musical Theatre/Jazz

The DJ will play the set tracks for each age category. The track will be played from the beginning for approx 60 seconds.

Dancers are permitted to choreograph 6 counts of 8, and then keep repeating this if they wish. There will be approx. 5 – 10 duos on the floor at one time.

If you are an Advanced Soloist/Duo and you reach the final 5, each Solo/Duo will have a 30 second spot, the music will start from the beginning each time.

Please Note: All Solo & Duo categories will be split into Beginner & Advanced and there is a possibility they could be combined based on the number of entries we receive. Therefore, the music set for each AGE CATEGORY will be the same regardless of if you are in the Beginner or Advanced categories for your Solo/Duo.
